New Faculty Maths, Computing and Technology

At the Staff Development event in R07, July 17th, Carol Morris currently Associate Dean for Learning, Teaching and Student Support in Technology, talked about the merger between Maths Computing and Technology. Pleased to see that we have a new Dean for the new Faculty, Chris Earl.

Start of October 2007 is official date for merger.

Ruth Carter - Retirement

Ruth's retirement do tonight, 17th July, at the Leeds Regional Centre.

Ruth departs on Friday to the Danube University in Austria. She says that she will be working there for '2 weeks at a summer school to support women researchers in SET, an exciting, innovative project and a nice way to end my OU career.'

Ruth we all wish you the very best, from August 2007, when you take leave of the OU.

Blogging for Technology

Having just been on a workshop for Web 2.0 technoogies, we had a session on creating your own blog. I thought that this might be worth looking at as a way of keeping in contact. It has always struck me that it would be good to have a newsletter but maybe the blog can provide a way of helping keep up to date with the OU. You can also share with the group, what you are doing.
